Mine is Deep Red, an Italian film from 1975. It scares a lot:

BTW, modern Horror Films are poor compared to the earlier ones from the 70s & 80s.

Yeah i agree with you, however some 70' movies such as the famed Exorcist never scared me, the theme music sucked, too repetitive, not scary at all, some scenes were almost comic.

I too am not very fond of modern horror movies, especially those that are just slasher movies. Anyone can make a slasher film, but it takes some effort to make a film that's truly scary.
The Shining was certainly a creepy film. Jaws was pretty suspenseful as well. Psycho (the original, not the remake) was scary, but I swear I never could see much to Hitchcock's other famous horror film The Birds. IMO that was pointless and stupid.
The creepiest, most suspenseful recent horror movie I've seen is 1408. It's on the order of the Shining (which makes sense as the original story was written by Stephen King).

In modern times, the best horror movies come from Spain. Watch The Orphanage, The Others and REC. Pan's Labyrinth could also be considered a horror to some extent.

Ah evil dead is more of a laugh for me. Huh, i dont know..maybe The Blair witch project. Or The ring. I'm a filmophile but i rarely watch horror movies. Shining is good, yes. I guess i agree with Dinocrocuta. The birds were pointless, but i somehow always liked to watch it though. It has that special music- less atmosphere and is hard to forget.
