 Interspecific Conflict Threads
« Thread Started on Nov 16, 2006, 10:21pm »

In an attempt to maintain a consistent, professional and informative approach to threads in the Interspecific Conflict section of this forum, the staff at Carnivora requests you follow these guidelines.

All animal vs animal topics, must have at least some statics or information regarding the combatants.

The requested method (and this is only an example) is as follows:

1. Select "New Poll", and then state the two species you are matching, providing them as options for poll voters. You may also wish to include a '50/50' or 'undecided' option for voters.

2. In the message section, restate the two combatants, provide a useful picture of each and then some brief but important statistics and relevant information. Such as the following illustrates":

Raven
[image]
Length; 25 inches
Wingspan; 40 inches
Diet; Primarily a scavenger, the raven will also eat eggs, game bird chicks, lizards, rodents and on some occasions, new born lambs.

Herring Gull

Length; 24 inches
Wingspan; 55 inches
Diet; Will eat any fish able to fit in its mouth but will also eat baby penguins, turtles, ducklings, carrion and new born seals if they're weak enough.

3. It is also useful to provide some further information via a link to a reliable website. You can easily google one, but Animal Diversity Web is very good:

Even better, why not link it to one of Canivora's own species profiles! Its simple :

If you start a thread that differs significantly from the prefered format a staff member will most likely edit your post, and send you a reminder of these guidelines.

Here's a good example of what we'd like to see:

Just a final note, we at Carnivora are very appreciative of those members who take the time to start topics/threads, and are only too willing to help if you need assistance.
